Now it creates the mount points. I'm going to be using supermount-ng, so I have no need for hotplug with floppies and cd's. And why does it state on boot that automounter has been started for floppy and cd, though it automounts nothing?

Also I'd like to change the mount app (3.2) to handle only usb devices, any hints? Should I just poke around with docked.lua...

The automount check is a carryover from Knoppix, as part of /etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig. Since automount doesn't exist in DSL, though, it doesn't actually do anything other than give you that message.

Ok. But why isn't it removed?

Then my other questions....

My guess would be that it would be easier to add it back in if someone wanted to.

As far as I know, the Knoppix script has been mostly left alone because it works. I think there was an addition a while back for some extra hardware detection, but i don't think anything has been removed. While I think I would have streamlined the script if this were my distro, I can understand taking the position "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Ok. Figured everything out by myself. Thanks for nothing ;)

Debating is fun, but if one asks something, how about answering?

Pardon...?

You asked two questions. The first question was answered.

The second question was most likely not answered because there was not yet a known answer. Some questions just don't have answers until someone goes in and finds one, as you apparently did.  Sometimes a question is intriguing enough for someone previously unconcerned to do some research and experimentation to find a solution. Sometimes it's not. This is one of the the things that in my opinion makes open source projects great...if no one else wants to put in the time and effort to explore something that interests you, you have the option of trying it yourself.

Congratulations on finding a solution.

Well, actually three questions:
1) disabling hotplug with floppies and cd's
2) automounter
3) mount tool

Sorry if I insulted you in any way....
