Hello all,

I've been checking out some light-weight linux distros on an old Toshiba notebook, and decided that DSL had far better performance overall.

When running the Live CD I had little trouble accessing my USB ports for when I connected a pen drive, I used the enhanced desktop tool that usually sits in the bottom right of the screen allowing me to mount drives and change my volume settings.

However once I installed DSL to the HD using the instructions I found in the url=http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php/Installing_to_the_Hard_Disk]wiki[/url], I could no longer access my USB drives and only see floppy and cdRom.

Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Cheers,

Blaise.

Hi Curaga,

I won't be able to check my boot messages until I'm back at my Laptop later today.

from memory though (I did try and see if something was displayed on boot before) It detects USB ports, but then later has a few modprobe errors, would these be related?

Cheers,

Blaise.
