Does anybody know why I see a 'frugal' cheat code in all of my GRUB entries on the machine where I made a full hard-disk install?

Version 4.0 or 4.1Rc1, I don't remember which it is... is there a version stamp somewhere?

It will just be ignored.  If it bothers you too much, you can safely remove it.

Okay, that doesn't bother me... I was just curious.

Is there any way to know what the bootup options do by reading OS scripts?... or do we need to rely on the Wiki and documentation?

Most boot options can be gleaned from Klaus Knopper's /etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig and from my /etc/init.d/dsl-config.
I really don't have time to monitor the Wiki so not sure how uptodate it would be.

Will look into files... thanks Robert.

Yeah, the Wiki isn't as helpful as this Forum actually.  It's very sketchy, much more info here.  I visit the Wiki from time to time, but it just doesn't cut it for me.  I added my results in the Verified Wireless Cards page... I'll try and add more pages as I learn the DSL system... being new here gives me the advantage that I don't have knowledge that I take for granted yet.
