Can't compileForum: HD Install Topic: Can't compile started by: stevelitt Posted by stevelitt on Oct. 08 2004,10:23
DSL 0.8.2 installed on my hard disk. During the install it errored out saying it couldn't install extended, but instead installed standard.I tried to ./configure IceWM. It bombed saying I had no compiler. No problem, I just did this: ln -s tcc gcc Now the ./configure went through quite a bit of its stuff. But then, while checking cpp, it errored out like this: root@box:/usr/bin# cpp cpp: installation problem, cannot exec `cpp0': No such file or directory root@box:/usr/bin# A use of the find command showed there's no cpp0 file on the entire hard disk. Where do I go from here? Posted by cbagger01 on Oct. 09 2004,02:10
Download and install the gcc1.dsl extension. It contains make, gcc, g++ compiler utilities. Also, there is an icewm extension at the web site too it you don't want to compile it from source. Posted by redklingon71 on Oct. 10 2004,17:43
I used apt-get to install gcc2.95, and I'm trying to install VICE. The problem: GCC2.95's preprocessor fails the sanity check.I wonder what I may be missing...??? Posted by I went to bed very late on Oct. 11 2004,11:48
use the gcc.dsl. It works fine for me Posted by redklingon71 on Oct. 11 2004,21:36
gcc.dsl isn't available through click-and-load. Where might I find this extension otherwise?

OOPS... I found it, so never mind the previous post. Now the question becomes, "How do I adapt the .dsl after downloading it?"

adapt ?open emelfm as user dsl.. left click on the gcc1.dsl to highlight it.. left click on the mydsl button at the top/middle of emelfm.. wait for the screen to flash, and the cpu monitor to return to 0%.. enjoy.. 73 ke4nt |
