I think I've read through every post with the word Frugal in it, but I can't seem to find any actual instructions for how to performa frugal install to a hard drive.  Does this exist?  If I've missed it, feel free to flame me (just please tell me where it is!)

Thanks,
Gabe

Somehow I knew it'd be simple...

The DSL team has thought of almost everything...(this is why this tiny distro is holding its own against the big boys)

Thanks!  This is pretty cool stuff.

I found the Frugal Install item in the menu, but when I run it, it prompts for a partition, and then quits right after I enter the partition.  Do I need to prep anything?

OOOH...found the script and ran it from a terminal.  It says that it only works reliably on hda, and my hard drive was detected as hdb1.

Success...it saw the CDRom as the first IDE device...no big deal.

and now for my next question...

Anyhow, after getting the frugal install finished up, I am prompted to configure X every time the box starts up.  Also, I'd like to have the root password be something I know when it starts up, so I can actually use the SSH daemon (unless there's some other way to SSH in).  I can't find a default root password anywhere...

Can I just edit some scripts to get X to quit popping up the config screens?

Nevermind!  Should've searched.  Thought I did yesterday, but didn't!
