I have tried the hdinstall option at boot, I have booted to the CD then tried the Xwindows method (sudo -u root dsl-hdinstall /dev/hda1 - however the graphics bit ass (pale green screen and I cannot see the xwindows that clear (Dell CPi Latitude D266XT (2GBHD, 64MB ram, Neomagic 2160 Video (2mB))).Any ideas? Here is a thread I found by searching the forums for Neomagic.There were many, many more.. Popular chipset.. Once you get the graphics the way you want them using the live CD, the settings should transfer over to your HDInstall.. So, boot from CD, get it nice , then run the HDInstall script.. Thanks for the feedback. forutnately, and little more patience and I was successful in getting it to work correctly. The video I used the frame buffers and the install to the HD was a successful since I could see the screen. I truly like DSL. It works great on my "hooptie" of a laptop.Sweet. |
