Laptop Video (newbie question)Forum: HD Install Topic: Laptop Video (newbie question) started by: ArgusMcfarland Posted by ArgusMcfarland on Dec. 18 2004,08:11
I remooved the hard drive from a Toshiba 420 CDT laptop, installed DSL on it with another machine. I reinstalled the hard drive in the Toshiba it worked great exept for the Video is "to big". How do I change it to "800 x 600" when booting form a hard drive?.....ie I don't get the option to make the change like when I boot DSL from the CD on my other machine.

You can alter resolutions within DSL using "Xsetup" orTry HD install again with your drive on the other machine but when the CD first boots up, you should get an initial screen with a boot prompt: Before pressing enter, type "fb800x600" .This should boot up at that resolution. When you hard disk install this setting should be remembered so that when you put the drive back in the original machine, it should automatically start at 800x600. |
