hd install went alright after 10 tries of partitioning and installing windows 98se and dsl on 1st hdd
i have second hdd hdc1
mkliloboot made a mess of the boot screen.
now i have 6 boot types as per liloboot
once i saw mkliloboot ask which root i want to make lilo
can i make lilo in dos boot also
first time it stoned my win98 boot
now i have 6 boot buttons on lilo screen
only hda1 linux and hda3 windows work
although it shows there is a nt boot on hdc1 it is not booting from there.
what file i can edit to show only hda1 linux and hda3 windows
is there a way make it work the hdc1 nt boot.
liloboot is not accessing hdc1 really
any help on this?
any body has 3 boot system working?
thanks

Use GRUB. Lilo sucks trying to do multi-boot.

If you need a grub floppy or CD to get your box booting, you can get some custom Grub disks from < my ftp >.

Otherwise, just apt-get install grub, then google for "grub menu.lst" and make a text file at /boot/grub/ called menu.lst for your particular setup.

It's easy.

how do i remove the liloboot from installation-- short of reinstall

the above adv is greek and latin to me

i am still in the stage of teaspooon feeding in linux

i have to do a lot of reasearch in linux commands

where all these files are written i see that i cannot copy save any file in hda2

manually or on hda1

anyway i want to reamove the lilo boot

is there any command for format hda1 hda 2 .i want to delete all in the drives and reinstall.... for simply reinstalling just overwrites the pld one

thanks SaidinUnleashed

i will try the grub
