Hi:

I did an HD install. I have a Pentium 3 machine  with two HDs, hda (WinXP) hda1(Win Primary), hda5(Win extension) hdb (Linux) hdb1(/) hdb3(swap).

I installed dsl on hdb1, now when I get to do mkliloboot, It asks for root partition, I chose hda1 then I got error stating /mnt/hda not found

and several errors /etc/hdb unknown boot.conf etc. my MBR is on hda1. I am reading about installing GRUB, I like GRUB, I will try following that information.

I want to install Privoxy/Proximitron, + a decent Firewall, What I find for Privoxy is the Source file, How can I compile it? Which is a decent Firewall?

Thanks
Alan

Hi:

This what I get when I use mkliloboot

mount wrong fs type bad superblock /dev/hda or too many mounted system

gzip: write no space left
gzip: crc error
gzip: incorrect lenght

/mnt/hd no /dev

/etc/lilo.conf no such file or directory
/mnt/hd/etc/lilo.conf no file or directory

error line 176 etc

I tried grub-install following grub ,

I get this error

/dev/hda (assuming it is asking for hda firts HD) does not have any BIOS entry

Also, the screen is too small to see, I tried XVESA 1024x768 [24] this increases teh screen size but reduces the font size.

How can I access hda1,hda5,hdb1,hd3 all at the same time
