Hi all..

I have these usb speakers that do not require a sound card be installed on the system - they are detected upon boot up in DSL, there is a generic usb audio driver apparently.  I disabled the AC97 on board support in bios and gave it a shot; they do not play however.. anyone have any expereince or knowledge on this subject?  would be much appreciated..

thanks
brad

Sorry for the delay in my reply - got amazingly side-tracked... anyway, they are Auditek ..

upon booting it says "CMEDIA INC Usb Audio  driver=audio"

the chip is: CMI102

thanks a million for any help!
Brad

According to the Linux USB site, someone had success with this device and using the ALSA sound system.

Try downloading the ALSADEBS.DSL extension from the myDSL repository and follow the detailed instructions for installation and use and see if it works for you.
