Is it possible to install Damn Small Linux on a CompactFlash card and boot automatically from the CF reader ?

I don't want to keep the noisy harddrive in my little computer.

Yes, if you buy a Compact Flash to IDE converter card.

Then do a "frugal install" to your fake hard drive and you are in business.

All laptops are not compatible, but most are.

You need to test or ask others with similar models for feedback.

Frugal Install is an optional script for installation. See document for details:
