Please can someone help me

i am wanting to download Damn Small Linux but am not sure what or how to do it.I followed the dowload links to the various sites where i can download the ISO but it just comes up with a list of directories and files and folders.

I have never done this method before and would like to get on board "PRONTO" (ASAP) so if someone could help me it would be GREAT

OK, most of the download sites will probably have a "current" directory, the file you are after would probably be "dsl-1.2.1.iso", which is the latest iso.  There is also a syslinux version, don't really know what the difference is, I think syslinux has a bit less support for new stuff but better for old machines?
Basically just look for the "biggest" number iso, and this will be the latest release (ie., currently 1.2.1, next one may be 1.3, or if theres onlt quick minor fixes it'll be 1.2.2)

Then burn the iso as an image using your favourite burner (ie., "Burn Image", not "make a new data CD").  The default settings will probably be right, but I always burn at the lowest speed possible just to make sure I don't get any read errors on older machines.
If your machine can read CD-RW disks (some CD-ROMs can't), is a good idea to use one for the first few tries if possible, saves making some coasters.
