I already have a Mandriva Install in hda7, I did a hd install of DSL in hda8, which removed the mandriva lilo from mbr, and installed an older lilo(which did not recognise hda7). I then had to reinstall the mandriva lilo. How do i set that to boot DSL? I tried giving ´hda8´ as root and image as /boot/linux24, but it does not seem to work.

What must i do? Please help

My guess is edit lilo.conf and then run 'lilo'.  I assume the pertinent lilo.conf would be Mandriva's /etc/lilo.conf, so edit that file and run lilo from Mandriva.

A gooooogle search should quickly give you info on the format of lilo.conf

ok, thanks for replying, will try, i think mandriva´s lilo looks in mandriva´s /boot folder for kernel images. I just have to figure a way to make it look in /dev/hda8, btw is it possible for me to boot the kernel from the livecd? I tried using the fromhd option, but i think it works only for cds copied to hd and not hd installations.
