Just did a HD install of DSL.  It won't detect my USB mouse (it did when I did CD boot previously).  What do I need to do to get it to detect my mouse.

And as a bonus, how can I also get it to detect my touchpad mouse (I'm running DSL on my Dell laptop)?

Press CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to return to the text mode.

Type:

xsetup.sh

and choose "USB MOUSE" along with your other preferences. Then type:

startx

to restart the graphical mode.

cbagger - thanks for the input.  Tried it, input the info through xsetup.sh, but it keeps wanting to go back to the default setup once I run startx.  Is there any way I can edit a config file to set my mouse to USB?  If so, where is that config file?

The config file is located at:

/home/dsl/.xserverrc

You can edit it directly by typing:

nano /home/dsl/.xserverrc

or

beaver /home/dsl/.xserverrc

If you want to see it inside Emelfm file manager, make sure to press the "H" button because all files that start with a "." are considered to be hidden files.
