I'm trying to setup a dsl installation to boot from a parellel port zip PLUS drive, the plus part being the bane of my existance.  The problem is that "This is a newer version of the external Zip drive. The  Zip Plus  does not use the ppa driver, instead it uses the  imm  driver." and the boot disk when executing the "dsl zipboot" as per the bootable zip instructions keeps trying to run the ppa module then gives an error and freezes.  Is there some way to get it to use the imm driver so I can use this livezip to install to an old laptop I came into possesion of that doesn't have a cdrom drive and network card isn't reconized in TOMSRTBT ( as per Floppy Only Install with Netcard (Poormans Install) )

Why not do a poorman's install?

Boot up in another OS like MSDOS or Windows and use your ZIP drive to copy over the \knoppix\knoppix file to C:\knoppix\knoppix

use ALL LOWERCASE LETTERS

Then create a normal DSL bootfloppy disk and you should be able to boot into DSL.

If you know of a dos boot floppy with zip plus support I'll give it a try.  Otherwise, thankfully I bought a laptop to ide harddrive adapter, so if  I do alot of unscrewing and moving of cables I could do a poormans that way.

I would hope that IOMEGA would provide DOS drivers for their zipplus drives.

Then you could create your own DOS boot disk and go from there.

But the harddrive adapter will also work just fine.
