floppy disc bootForum: HD Install Topic: floppy disc boot started by: Sandshark Posted by Sandshark on July 16 2005,16:52
I am a new DSL user and a new linux user for that matter i have been experimenting with different versions of linux mainly for office and communications purposes.I have an old compac armada with 4gig hdd and a floppy drive. the machine was running windows 98 but for some unknown reason it won't boot up any more. it gives the message "non system disk or disk error" it does a memory test and says that there is 65365 kb ok. A friend of mine had the same message on a newer laptop and directly installing linux solved the problem. DSL being so small would be perfect for this mechine! How can i make boot disks for the floppy drive so that i can try to have DSL on this machine? |
