Hi!
I made the partition, then booted of cd, F2, copy contents to hard drive.  THEN restart, F2, boot of pervious copied files

Then I had to go through the screen res, mouse, etc setup

How do I get the computer to boot of the hard drive? The only way I can do it is through F2 - boot of previous copied files.

Is there a way to do this or will I have to do all this stuff everytime? Thanks

I am not sure exactly what is being done, but since you are asking how to boot from the hard drive I am going under the notion that you are willing to do an install. If this is the case I would recommend a frugal install. Here is a great pdf explaining the installation.

And here is a thread explaining what it is.

Again I am kind of reaching on what you are asking about, so if I am off base please forgive me.

IT WORKS!!!!

I got the frugal install done!!! Yeah!

Thank you very much!

I have one last question:
It says stuff about 'xuesa' and you have to pick one. Then it says 'USB Mouse' and you have to pick one, and so on.

Is there a way to make it remember which ones?

THANKS

Yes.

Activate your Backup / Restore function.

See the docs for more details.

Thanks!

Is there any downloads (programs) for DSL?

(i am a newbie with linux)

If you are connected to the internet, double click on the mydsl icon on the dsl desktop and a box will appear divided up into various application topics.  Click on one of the lables and a list of programs that you can download will appear.

Hope this helps.  Have fun.
