I finally achieved my hd install of dsl. Rebooted my coomputer and there are no graphics on the monitor. No elephants, no icons. Did I do something wrong? I tried right click, desktop, etc., etc. but still nothing.Sina Posted by cbagger01 on July 31 2005,04:19
Try changing the resolution and color depth for your video. It sounds like your color depth is set too low.Press CONTROL-ALT-BACKSPACE to exit graphical mode and then type: xsetup.sh and then choose a different resolution and color depth. Then type "startx" to return to graphical mode. Posted by Sina on July 31 2005,04:51
Hmmm. CONTROL-ALT-BACKSPACE does nothing. It does not take me out of graphical mode. Still blank screen. Posted by cbagger01 on July 31 2005,05:59
This is not good.Does CONTROL-ALT-DEL cause Linux to shut down? Posted by jamesgecko on Aug. 06 2005,22:44
It causes the computer to reboot. sudo shutdown -h now will shut down the computer. Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 07 2005,03:37
