If you are in fluxbox, right-click the desktop to get a menu, and find the "XShells" submenu. Or exit fluxbox.

sorry , but why i can open access root xshell withouth passwd root ? from my user? Can I disable that ? thank you VRicky Posted by adssse on Sep. 06 2005,14:25
Correct me if I am wrong, but as I know of dsl does not use a password for root. You are just able to 'sudo su' to become root at any time. I believe you can change your password while root by typing 'passwd' and setting the password, or by using the boot command 'dsl secure' and it will prompt you to set a password. After that I believe you can backup /etc/shadow and it should be all set.Not exactly sure how that will impact how the root access shell opens since it usually opens to root automatically, but that should explain the password concept. Even after setting up a root password, dsl can still use "sudo command" without needing a password. If you change sudoers to disable the NOPASSWD, the password will be required whenever you run sudo. This may impact the way the system works, however, since many scripts rely on sudo without giving a password prompt. As far as I can tell, DSL has been set up to be secure from a remote point of view, but not locally by default. The simplest solution i can see is to create a password for user dsl, and log out when you are not at the machine. Posted by vricky on Sep. 07 2005,08:31
You have right ! thank you at everyone.I note that there is a particular script "adduser" that auto insert NOPASSWORD in sudoers. As you tell , if I rem the line in sudoers , the system dsl don't work correctly. Thank you again. VRicky |
