I have the latest DSL boot cd and it doesn't find my hard drive. It's recognized by the BIOS and I'm able to boot to it, because it still has Win95 installed on it. But when I boot into DSL, it doesn't find it.

I've tried 3 different hard drives including the one that has Win95 on it, tried a different hdd cable, tried switching it from primary to secondary. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Allow me to preface the following with this statement, I'm not trying to be a smartass...

Have you tried to mount the hard drive with mount.app first?

It doesn't show up when I use mount.app

Also on a side note, I cannot get my Microsoft MN-520 11mbps pcmcia wireless card to work on the same computer.

I have a Dell computer that has XP installed, and the partitions set up at the
factory are not detectable by Damn Small.
So, if I put a /knoppix folder in with XP, in /dev/hde2, the folder cannot be found by a boot
floppy. Something like that may be your problem.
After you boot up DSL, look in /mnt and see what partitions are listed.
Any of them shown in /mnt would be shown in mount.app also.
I had to use a tomsrtbt linux boot floppy to find the partitions on the Dell.
I run from the CD, and have a usb pen drive for the backup, so it's not
a real problem.

Anyway, I have thrown this on the table for discussion here, somehow we
will get you fixed up!

I'll get back if there is anything I can help with later.
