I have a Fujitsu Lifebook B 2131 that only has a floppy drive (well I have an external PCMCIA CD (non-Fujitsu, but the computer will not recognize it). I want to install DSL on this machine, but will need to do it from floppies. Now that you all have had a good belly laugh, has anyone ever done this, and if so can you point me to a HOW-TO or explain the process. I have d/led the DSL boot disk, and that woorks great. Of course, when it searched for the external CD with DSL on it, it could not find it, and dropped me to a very limited version of knoppix. Thanks for anyones time and effort to help me, in advance. There woould still be a problem, in that in DOS the PCMCIA card is not found (it used to before WIN 98 crashed), and without a specific FUJITSU External CD and its associated PCMCIA Card, I cannot due a reinstall (and Fujitsu wants $150.00 to load 98, likes that going to happen!). This is one of the reasons I am loading Linux to start with. So I REALLY do need to figure out how to span DSL over ?+ floppies, and then rebuilt them on the harddrive, and then do the poor man load! Thanks, Posted by cbagger01 on Sep. 12 2005,17:49

Thanks. I had seen that before, but could not remember where. Although I doubt that there would be very many takers, it would be nice if the 1.44 chunks were already on a server somewhere ... This should be FUN!!! But hey, if it works, I will be a real happy camper, as I like the Lifebook. I figure just about the time I get it running, I will find a used External Fujitsu CD for next to nothing.
