Hi! I am new to Linux and DSL. I have some question I could not find an answer in the forum or wiki.
I am this far at the moment:
I installed DSL on hd using Install to Hard Drive from the menue.
First I had now sound with my Audigy 2 Soundcard DSL said it found it while booting up but I did not have sound. I installed ALSA wia MyDSL Extension. Afterthat I had sound. What now still is not working is the micro. I tested it with Audacity I installed via the mysql extension. I only have some kind of sound loopback. If I play something with XMMS and open Audacity pressing there "record" I record the output of XMMS. My Microphone even, plugged in and working under windows is not working.
So I hope its okay to ask this.
If this has been answered elswhere please point in the direction where it is answered.
Anyway I have to say: I like DSL, never tried a Linux Live CD longer than 5 minutes seems I don't like KDE or Gnome. But this time I think Linux has a chance to stay on my pc cause I really like DSL containing this nice WM called fluxbox
(This I like much). I allready got to run on my HD installed DSL:Opera 8.02, crack-attack, skype (but without working microphone not very usefull).

EDIT: Removed question about bootloader (grub) because I meanwhile could solve this.
