i have an old laptop that i want to install the DSL on it
but it dosent have any CDROM
how can i install it buy copying the files to the harddisk and boot

Hmm - I am no expert, but would like the definitive answer to this also!
If it helps you, debian hasa hard disk install, which is outlined here < http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/i386/ch04s05.html.en > and on other pages in the same manual, but I dont know for DSL.

Check the "Wiki" for a Poorman's Install.

I think it is in the booting or boot floppy section.
