CFDISK problemForum: HD Install Topic: CFDISK problem started by: potemkin Posted by potemkin on Oct. 05 2005,18:03
HelloI have a problem with my cfdisk...and things in general :| Well, first of all, I am trying to install DSL on a 4.5 year-old laptop...Pentium III, 700MHz, 64 RAM ... And anyway...I can boot into DSL from the CD no problem, but if I stop doing something (typing, moving mouse around, etc) DSL freezes :\ But here's the big problem - I can't run cfdisk for some reason. When I try to execute "cfdisk" it gives me the following error: FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive Press any key to exit cfdisk does anyone know how I can fix that? thanx! i figured out the problem. it was the laptop's suspend-to-hard-drive setting. if I dispable suspension than everything works fine, otherwise it just hangs, and doesn't resume at all for some weird reason :S

Ahhh, That's a problem with a lot of laptops. They don't like to resume from suspend.
