Dear All

I am trying to install DSL on the hard disk of a VMware virtual machine, but I do not know what location choose (hda2, hdb2?...). Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Assuming that your Virtual Hard Drive is assigned to your Primary IDE controller as the "Master" drive, you should make a partition on your /dev/hda device and then format it.

Then you will have a hda1 partition available for use

Thanks, cbagger01. I have VMware installed on a Fedora Core 4 partition on hdc. However, my hda has more free room. Cannot I create a partition on hda and using it for DSL through VMware?

By default, VMware does not install the hard disk as IDE. The trick is then to choose IDE for the hard disk, inside VMware.
