Got problem with mouse and can't use serial mouse, can I get the terminal prompt using key commands?
I found good old control-alt-delete shuts my hard drive install down. I had to use this often in Windows! ( Can I use that word in this forum? )
Once in terminal I can run xsetup.sh and tell X my mouse is on ttyS0 com1.
Or can I interrupt boot sequence to enter commands?
Thanks team.

Answer to self.

control-alt-backspace

Then type exit to return to X windows.

I sat here pushing keys till I got it. Hope this helps someone.

Typing "exit" isn't the best way to return to X.  All this is doing is logging you out and then forcing you to log back in automatically, which starts X.  Doing this means that any changes you've made to your environment since you first logged in will be wiped clean.

The proper command is "startx".

You can re-configure your x settings as well by typing xsetup.sh after you hit cntl-alt-backspace
