Fellow penguin followers,

Can anyone tell me where I can find info on how to properly partition the HD to install DSL?
A step by step guide for newbbies would be great as I am a Linux Knowledge Idiot.

Thank you.

Hi burn image to cd. boot->press "F2"->type "dsl 2"->after every thing is loaded type "cfdisk"->pick a size for main partition aka / and hit enter ->pres "write"->with the left space make new partition->"type"(if i dont mistake - to change file system) press "enter" when ur asked to input number type 82(for swap)->press "write"->exit :)

The swap size depends on the amount of RAM installed on ur pc.I thik the best formula for calculating swap is 2*RAM.So if u have 32megs of ram like me :) swap is 64mb
other space for linux

have fun :)

yeah indeed....I should have known but it didn't seem like a  permission error ;-)

anyway that was it ,.DSL is installed however I can't boot it since grub installed to hdb ( which is where DSL is installed) but I need it on hda which is where windows HD is ( I have windows on hda and DSL on hdb, but hda must boot since its the windows HD)

anyway I posted about it elsewhere as I dont recall how to get access to grub to do: grub-install /dev/hda

cheers

After the partitions are build, how can we start the installation of DSL 2.0 for HD ?
