I'm booting back in  after a HD install and I'm stuck on "box login password".  Nothing I input will work, what does it want?

It wants the password that you entered. You were prompted to enter new password for root and user damnsmall. If you never saw these prompts then maybe you are having a screen size issue. If that is the case, then boot back with cdrom and use boot: dsl vga=normal. Then do your hdinstall.

I put in a root password then it asked for a "box login password"  every one I entered failed.  "could not find kernel dsl"  I don't remember setting password for usr damnsmall.  Any way to go back?  I reinstalled and entered root password and user password but I still get box login password which I can't satisfy.

Please give me hand.  I'm stuck at "box login"  The entry above is" Debian GNU/Linux testing/unstable box tty1"  Whatever that means then the "box login".  This is all that's stopping my hd install.
