Hi, I get really bad colors running DSL. This is the first time I have run Linux, but I am a little annoyed.

My monitor is a SAMTRON 76E and graaphics is on-board.

Any help - thanks in advance.

You could try another colour depth. If that doesn't work, I don't think there is much you can do, many other people have reported similar problems; I have the same problem on a P133 laptop, it is slightly better with 4 bit colour, but then some of the programs doesn't work.

I've been using DSL 0.6.x - 0.7.1 on an old Dell OptiPlex with great results, but I tried it for the first time today on a new Dell 2.8GHz (don't know the model) at my wife's office - wacky colors w/ xvesa, 1024x768, 32-bit color. Next chance I get I'll try some other settings and report.

If you are using the onboard intel eXtreme graphics device, you are limited to 800x600x16 with Xvesa.

You might be able to get better with Xfbdev.

ieg SUCKS.

Also try Xfree86.
