i have a old monitor which gives only 800 x 600 resolution. i used the ds linux and it shows everything too small. i use live ds linux cd. help me in making the screen resolution to 800 x 600 . i ll be thankfull to you.

I am not sure, but at boot prompt when you need to press enter, type

dsl vga=788

It should work.
