ok, i read it, and i found out how to encode the files with lame, but i cant figure out how to change the bit rate. the file i want to convert needs to be converted to 24 bit sound file.

Did you try -b 24 ?I hope this is a voice track, because 24kbits/sec is extremely crappy for anything else =o) Or maybe you didn't mean bitrate? Posted by Damn_Small_Jeff on June 28 2006,00:29
well, it following the guide to making my own ring tones in DSL. it said 24 is good for a phone. speaking of the phone thing, do you know how i connect to my phone with linux? like drivers and what not?

Hopefull your phone is built to be a standard "USB Mass Storage Device". If so, just plug your phone in and wait 15-20 seconds and it should appear at /mnt/sda1You would then mount it by opening emelfm, go to the /mnt directory and then Right-Click on "sda1" and choose "Mount" from the menu. |
