i click play after opening the file i wish to paly, but it doesnt do a thing!!!! plus, it wont play cds. i think im linuxtard.

Try this play sound test without audio file:Using XMMS, chosse "Play Location" and write "tone://1000" (without quotation marks). That should generate a 1000 hertz tone. If you can't hear the tone then you need configure the sound driver. Posted by Damn_Small_Jeff on June 28 2006,16:31

That is important because it is the most frequent and difficult problem here.Your problem can be one of these: - To play either from a CD drive or another drive first you must mount the drive using either Mount Tool or Emelfm applications. - What is the audio file format?. If it's a standard audio CD, this won't work. Audio CDs and commercial DVD movies do not mount as typical iso9660 roms, so you'd need to play them directly from the device: xmms /dev/cdrom Posted by piccolo on June 29 2006,09:31

well, i think my system recognices the thumb stick as the cdrom drive. and the format is an mp3, and i have a wav that im trying also what is mounting the drive and how do i do it. i dont want to screw my system up. |
