Mounting MP3 CD'sForum: Multimedia Topic: Mounting MP3 CD's started by: sxkorean Posted by sxkorean on Aug. 26 2006,08:26
If I mount my hard drive, or a MP3 cd, and try to find my music, I can (and have) wandered around in circles for about an hour. All I wanted was my Def Lepard... Posted by mikshaw on Aug. 26 2006,14:51
Look in /mntDepending on which disk was mounted, it could be /mnt/hda1, /mnt/cdrom, or something else, but if you mounted successfully it will be in that directory. Posted by sxkorean on Aug. 26 2006,16:29
Ugh...Yea I'm sorry. I found the answer on a general Linux website, things are mounted in the /mnt folder. I found it about 5 minutes ago, sorry. But Thanks! I was totally at a loss on where my music was. Just one more problem, and then I can disown Windows on this computer...LoL

Does automount work at hd-install? When i go at my /mnt/cdrom i see nothing (a blank folder). The audio cd's work fine, but not the data. what should i do?

Automount doesn't exist in DSL. Audio CD play without mounting because that's the way audio CDs work...the device is accessed directly rather than as a mounted filesystem. What you should do is mount your mp3 CDs before trying to play them, since they are standard data CDs and mounting them is the only way to access the data as a standard file system.
