I have already downloaded and unzip gimp-gap-2.2.0 and downloaded gimp 2.2 gtk from mydsl. I have looked everywhere and can not find any docs on installing gap under linux. Anyone here ever dealt with this package?

is gimp itself running successfully?

apparently (and i don't know anything about gimp; i'm speaking with the authority of one able to do a cursory google search) you need "gimptool" to (easily) install gimp plugins.  I don't know if that is included in the gimp.dsl package or not.

additionally, it seems that oftentimes you will need to be able to configure && make && make install, which means upgrading to gnu-utils, and loading the gcc extension.
