Hi
I have yet to finish getting my M Audio midisport working....I will post if I am successful....

I wanted a way of getting a soundfont player to open on bootup of DSL....so it loads a piano soundfont ready for playing.....preferrably without having to use a TFT ....

Has anyone got any tips how I might do this? I suppose I want something like timidity opening with a soundfont ready for playing - so I need to specify a default soundfont to load and get timidity or fluidsynth to start up. I'd love to use 'Linux Sampler' but it looks too difficult to install for a newbie.

I can work around my midi problem for now, it would be great to solve it...I am going to try buying an Edirol Midi usb interface fo rnow....

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Does this soundfont player require X?  Then you'll probably want to edit the script in ~dsl/.xinitrc

Do you already have those programs as mydsl extensions?  You can just use the mydsl autoloading features (unless you were planning to remaster the whole image).

To be honest I don't really know.....
Thanks for your reply. I will try the extensions.
