I have a Sound Blaster value card in my Dell, and DSL and Knoppix cannot pick it up, but SuSE Live Eval can, as well as the PCLinuxOS-based AmaroK Live CD distros. You might have to get another sound card or two from a computer repair shop, to try. They often have some of these for very little money, and you will find one that will work with DSL, I am sure. On the computer I am using now, DSL has no problem with the sound card. It is a creative Labs Model Number CT4740, and was inexpensive.

Slax is another live CD that Sound Blaster cards support. It's a temporary fix until you get a new card, anyway.

Ironically, DSL has no trouble whatsoever with any of my cheap onboard sound cards, only the nice one on my multimedia PC.

???

Audacity is my favorite sound editor. I pretty much stopped Using Creative Wave Studio when I found the windoze version of it about a year before I found DSL.

Obviously, I haven't used the myDSL of it, but it's right at the top of this page:
