My sound blaster 128 (ct 4750) doesnt work in DSL...any idea?...DSL detect it (es 1370) but i cant hear anything !!! Thanks!!! Posted by ke4nt1 on April 17 2005,16:17
I use several of those cards in my systems. They work great, just stick em' in and go.. No setup required.. Is your volume up ? Do you see a wmix app in your dock ? Does xmms play files, like mp3's , without an error message? ( see the timer count, display move, etc.. ) 73 ke4nt Posted by capitanking on April 17 2005,17:06

Maybe your speaker cable is plugged into the wrong jack on the back of the soundcard. Also, you may need amplified speakers and make sure that the amplifier is turned on. Posted by capitanking on April 20 2005,19:37

While there are many to choose from, the old faithful ct series of ensonic 128 ( sound blaster 128 ) like you have are great for running in dsl without issues.. I'd suggest getting another one.. They work in linux flawlessly...and they are cheap. Here are a few sources.. < http://www.directron.com/soundbaster512.html > CT4790 $12.99 ( recently discontinued here, may find it elsewhere ) < http://www.directron.com/vibra128oem.html > CT4730 $19.99 I have both of these, and they work upon bootup of DSL. For 2 channel audio, with some additional features, you can't beat it for the money.. 73 ke4nt |
