Does the Xfree86 driver work with your TV-OUT?

If so, then get the XFree86.dsl extension and install it.

Boot DSL
Connect to the internet
Double click on the myDSL GUI
Go to the "System" section.
Click on XFree86.dsl
READ THE INFORMATION CAREFULLY.
Choose Download.
Manually setup your XFree86 settings after download/install is complete.

You will need to read the information on your video driver.

Try searching google for your video card or your laptop along with the keyword linux.

It may be as simple as having the TV out already plugged in upon the bootup of your computer.
