The following is a link of 24 hrs Thai news station on net:-

mms://broadcast.issp.co.th/astvnews1

It uses mms protocol. If I use M$ Windows, it will open Madia Player automatic. Which application in DSL can be used for it?

It's a stretch, but you might want to try the program on the desktop called xmms. :;):

Try the mplayer extension from the mydsl repository.

you also may need a codec pak in order to use some Microsoft codecs.

Alast! Sounds like someone working a simlar project. I have gotten Debian to stream video from a tv tuner card (BT848) Chipset. A combination if V4L and VLC made the mms:// stream possible.  My next step is it use DSL on a flash card to eliminate the hd and debian overhead.  Help and collaboration is greatly appreciated.

yeah, xmms + xmmplayer and mplayer work for mms protocol, but I got 2 error messages:-

- Linux RTC init error in ioctl (rtc_irqp_set 1024): Permission denied
- Failed to create AF_INET6 socket:

Any idea?

AdminT, I have not tried VLC on DSL. Any update from your side?
