Hi All;
Firstly, I'm using a Toshiba Portege 660CDT laptop (should this post go in the laptop board?). DSL is running from a HD install.  XMMS won't play mp3s, but tells me to check the soundcard is configured properly. After a bit of hunting around, I learnt the laptop uses a Yamaha TM3812 chip to power the sound card (of unknown brand/model).

dmesg returns this about it:
Code Sample
YM3812 and OPL-3 driver Copyright (C) by Hannu Savolainen, Rob Hooft 1993-1996
ttyS01 unloaded
Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ SERIAL_PCI ISAPNP enabled
ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq=4) is a 16550A
ttyS01 at port 0x02f8 (irq=3) is a 16550A

I'm not sure if the last 4 lines are relevant or not.

according to < Wikipedia >, it seems maybe I should be using the OPL-2 driver, and not the OPL-3 it seems to be using?

In conclusion; what drivers/modules should be loaded for this card and how do I go about doing it? and Anything Else I've Missed?

thanks in advance for any help you can give me
