I love DSL for all it is worth!

But I don't manage to make my 3com Wlan pcmcia card work.
The card id is 3CRWE154G72

I get the message...
Code Sample
prism54: request_firmware() failed for 'isl3890')
eth0: could not upload firmware ('isl3890')
eth0: islpci_reset: faliure

...and I need some help to figure out where to begin. I'm relative new to Linux. I know some basic, but this proved to be to advance for me.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?
Then I'll be real glad! And then I won't have to go back to suxy windows.

Prism54 / firmware files are discussed here -

I followed the directions given in the post above. Something must have worked, because now I got a diffrent error message:
Code Sample

eth0: resetting device...
eth0: uploading firmware...
remove_proc_entry: 03:00.0/loading busy, count=1
remove_proc_entry: firmware/03:00.0 busy, count=1
eth0: firmware version: 1.0.4.3
eth0: firmware uploaded complete
de_put: deferred delete of loading
de_put: deffered delete of 03:00.0
eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
eth0: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
eth0: interface reset faliure
prism54: Your card/socket may be faulty, or IRQ line too busy :(

How do I change the IRQ for my card?

You can tell the pcmcia system which irq's NOT to use in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts
See this post < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=3211 >

First run "cat /proc/interrupts" to try to identify the problem irq.

I found out that it's a couple of hardware that uses the same IRQ.

The wireless card gets redirectet from IRQ 3 to IRQ 11.

Will it help to exclude IRQ 11?

Yes, probably.
If this still doesn't work, in bios you could try disabling serial port / internal modem to make their irq's available.
