I've just installed a Linksys wpc11 v4 wireless card into a laptop using DSL 1.5.  I did a little write up in the 'talk/blog' section on how it was done. < wpc11 install blog >.
Hope this helps others.
Good luck.

well, thats awesome you got yours working.  I, however, have been on a 6 month crusade to get my Sattellite 225cds w/ linksys wpc11 v4 working.  Just yesterday i recieved 32mb of ram in the mail, effectively trippling the memory in the laptop (wow what a difference), and allowing me to actually run dsl on the laptop.  now when i plug in the wpc11 v4 card, i get no power light, no audible beep (like my megahertz xjem (nic) card does when it is plugged in).  when i try to use the ndiswrapper tool, i still get no power and no beep.  I downloaded those same rtl8180 drivers from realtek, as every "wpc11 v4 linux" google search will tell you to do.  I know that it is not a faulty card because it works fine in my girlfriends XP laptop, and i know it isn't a faulty jack because i can put my megahertz xjem card in to either of the 2 slots and it works fine.  The only thing i can think of is that some how, the card isn't getting enough power, like if the card needs 5v but the jack only supplies 3.3v because it is so old, but that doesn't seem right to me because PCMCIA is PCMCIA, just like PCI is PCI (or at least i would think that).

if anyone has some input, i would love it because this thing has been killing me slowly.

What parameters do you use when you boot DSL?

The "no power light" "no beep" makes me think that the 'nopcmcia' parm is being used at boot.

What type of install is it? Direct boot from CD, Frugal or Hard Drive? What version of DSL?

If you have the ability to do downloads you may want to try Knoppix and see if the card works with that on your hardware.
