I need directions on setting up my MN-520 wifi card. I've tried Prism2, setting the channel, network name, and WEP. The card flashes as though searching for a signal but the log in fails. Is there something else I need to do?

I'm new at this, so explicit instructions would really help if someone in the know is inclined. I can connect to my router without problems using a regular wired ethernet card on my old i-series Thinkpad.

Thanks.

A microsoft wirless card, heh.
I had to use ndiswrapper to make a MN-720 card work.
Had no problems with it.

Well, the card used to work with Windows....

I tried ndiswrapper--no go. The MN-520 card is supposed to work using Prism according to the posted list. The card is recognized by DSL, flashes as if active when I enter the network name and WEP. Maybe I'll try another card if I can get my hands on one. Thanks for the help.

The issue seems to be with the WEP. With the 64-bit key turned on at the router (D-Link), the PCMIA card wil not work. With the WEP turned off, no problem connecting. This is a very odd conditon. Unfortunately I live in a densely populated city and can't leave the router open....but we're getting somewhere!

Are you entering your WEP with the embedded colons ?

I have no idea what embedded colons are. How would that look where I enter the WEP? Thanks for sticking with me on this.

What do embedded colons look like? How would a ten number encryption key be entered on the WEP field in the Prism GUI? Thanks for sticking with me on this.
