Now that V2 has been released I thought I would give DSL another try. However I am having the same problem which made me give it up last time. I can't seem to get my wireless card to work.

I have used ndiswrapper to install the windows drivers and the ndiswrapper -l shows gplus driver present and hardware present, and for the first time the 'link' light on the card has come on. This is where the good news stops! I have turned of security on my router and used both ndiswrapper and wlconfig and neither seams able to make the card work. The 'act' light flashes VERY briefly but the 'Connection Failed' box appears.

If anyone has any advice on how to get this working it would be great!

Thanks in advance,

you can use iwconfig command in aterm as Root:-

# iwconfig wlan0                                                          <for checking>
# iwconfig wlan0 essid "Your Network" key 0123-4567-89 <for connecting>

you can repreat it as much as you want, and use Firefox for internet connection testing. Good luck :D

Hi!
I have the same problem with a DWL-650+...
but there is something here:

OK,

hs7sv - Thanks for the reply, have tried this and managed to get the 'sudo wlconfig' to output with the name of the router and access point. Now both the lights flash but still no internet. I also tried to 'ping' the router with no success 'Network Unreachable' - any idea why it only half works?

feynman - unfortunatly (being totaly honest!) i am a newbie to this so it may take me a while to work through those instructions! But will update you if I have any luck, did you ever get it to work?

Success!! (well mostly!).

I have managed to get the card to work using the gplus drivers and ndiswrapper. Fantastic! However I have to turn of the WEP on my router for it to work. While this is good, in that the card works I am not overly happy with having an unsecure wireless network. Is there a solution to this, or do I have to live with it?

You can also set the router side for mac filtering to allow only your computer to connect based on the mac address.
