Modem: Intel Corp. 82801DB (ICH4) AC'97 Modem Controller (rev 01)

after doing alot of wave cutting and general perusing,

it seems the best way people are getting these modems working is using smartlink drivers, the only problem is you need the:

snd_intel8x0m module,

which doesnt come with dsl but is part of a 2.6 kernel that would come with other distro's....

is there anyway to add modules to dsl ??

for more info lookup linmodems  ???

(oh, one recomendation is just to buy a hardware modem(external usb), which im in the market for ... as the guy says then it'll save you everytime you change distro's)  :;):

Is that part of the ALSA drivers?

If so, install the alsa.dsl extension.
