Have question regarding the detection of a wireless network card (Linksys wp54g) under DSL.

DSL is not picking up this wireless card (on-board integrated card). This system is HP laptop.

Have run netcardconfig and checked with shell command ifconfig. only get loopback device 127.0.0.0.

Is there any modprobe command that could load this wireless net card? Is there a patch? or will DSL at any future time have support for this hardware?

Thanks In Advance...

No, you would have to install quite a few extra packages, the wlan-ng* packages. With such modern portable hardware why not just run Knoppix.  There is only so much room in a 50MB distro, but if you find an old Linksys wpc11 v1 to v3 it will work without any problem.  You could buy one at ebay for $10.

Your answer was quite good. I have tried using knoppix full version and the setup scripts claim their is no wireless network card that can be found on the system. However, for only $10 on ebay, I think that the wpc11 is a great option to try.
