Are you asking if the distribution has an FTP server? I'm not sure what you mean.

Erwin,DSL has an FTP client in it called AXYftp, that you can use to ftp your web site any where, you just need to get your web site files onto the computer that is running DSL by any method you choose, example, network/internet download, floppy, cd, ect. I use it all the time to update my web site, works great. Joel Posted by caulktel on Dec. 25 2003,18:05
Erwin,After thinking about it, I think what you are asking is whether DSL has an ftp server running on it. No it does not, (I think). You would have to be running ProFTPd or something simalar on the DSL box. So unless you have local access to the DSL box, so you could use AXYftp, you will have to find other means to get your Web site files to it. Joel Posted by John on Dec. 25 2003,20:34
No FTP server, but there is the scp server.< http://www.stat.duke.edu/~sto/security/scp_man.html > Posted by etsoft on Dec. 26 2003,13:28
Hi,the scp would do i guess ... I develop my website on a windows :-( machine. I'm trying WinSCP to logon to the machine, as root, which kind of password do i need te use ?? Regrards Posted by John on Dec. 26 2003,14:48
You will need to set your own password. In a term window type:sudo su That will get you to root, then type: passwd That will set your root password. Posted by Carl on Jan. 15 2004,02:58
When I try to connect to my DSL box using WinSCP I get connection refused. Does DSL need configuring to act as an SCP server ?

You just need to turn it on first, it is in the menu under the Daemons subsection.
