Mounting shared folders with samba on bootForum: Networking Topic: Mounting shared folders with samba on boot started by: devilpaco Posted by devilpaco on Mar. 12 2006,18:45
Well I've installed DSL on my HD on a pentium 166 as a webserver with monkey and it works great. Now, I'm trying to mount a shared folder that I'm sharing on another computer using samba (I've installed it via MyDSL), the problem is that I can mount shared folders, BUT I've to do it manually from the Xserver (I'm using fluxbox) and I want the computer to do it himself on the boot or, to do it manually from the console, I've tried to create a mount script but i't seems that I haven't set the password and the user correctly and it says "tree connect failed" because of the user.my mountscript seems like: "sbmount //COMPUTER/Shared /home/dsl/mnt/COMPUTER/Shared -o username=devil,password=,fmask=664,dmask=775,uid=1001,gid=50,ip=192.168.0.XXX,debug=0,workgroup=MSHOME" that script have been generated by the program, but i've added the text that says "password=" because in the other machine i dont have set a pass. I hope that anyone can help me, ive searched all around google and noone seems to be like me... thank you very much sorry about my english, but I'm not a good english writer lol Bye! You might try USERNAME%PASSWORD, that is the two separated with a %. This works in scripts with smbclient. DId you set up the smbpassword for this user? I believe that you have to set this up separately from the "normal" password. If memeory serves me this is smbpasswd -a USERNAME.

I't doesn't seem to work, thank you very much, well in the end I've made it but doing it manually by console, I've configurated the LinNeighborhood (an app that I got via mydsl) and when I run it it mounts the shared folders with the correct pass and username, so the only thing that I've to do is to go to console and write LinNeighborhood and all the folders get mounted.I hope my post help somebody with the same problem. thankyou very much for your answer, bye! devilpaco |
