hi all...

i have an alcatel speedtouch but don't know how to connect to internet...

with others distributions i use the script

or drivers and procedures who can find here

but in damnsmall there isn't gcc or a compiler..
now the question is: how to install modem and connect to internet?

did you get it working?

I am presently looking for a light weight linux distro to create an internet server from an old machine.

I only problem i have is that i cannot get my usb speedtouch to work in any version of linux i have used

Should also mention that as i am in Europe i need to use PPPOA - anyone offer any help?

no, i didn't....

damnsmalllinux haven't gcc and the speedtouch drivers cannot be installs.. if you want a small (240mb download) and fast distribution look www.vectorlinux.com  
this distro run with xfce (or fluxbox) on my p266mmx 32mb ram
and speedtouch usb :cool:

damnsmall remains a great distribution however
