Hi

I've just started experimenting with Linux and so installed damn small linux onto a usb memory drive to see if I could get it to work with a usb wifi stick.

The install went well and it boots just fine from the usb stick. In order to get the usb wifi stick to work, I ran ndiswrapper using the instructions< here >

When I get to the bit that says depmod -a I get an error message saying that modules.dep is read only.

I tried to chmod this file but it keeps saying the file system is read only. I could understand this if it was on the live cd but this is on my usb memory stick.

Any clues as to how to make this writable would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Reggie

Try the ndiswrapper GUI from the control panel.

Thanks for that tip, I didn't realise there was another way of running ndiwrapper.

I've tried running it from control panel and it just says it can't connect so I guess it must be a problem with the xp drivers I have.

Cheers

Reggie
